Ferhan Oskay - General Manager
Born in 1967 in Istanbul, Ferhan has travelled extensively, having been a Deck Officer in the Turkish Marines. He then spent nine years in Cyprus working for Rocks Hotel and Casino. Having met Charlotte who was also working in Cyprus, they both moved to England in 1999 before coming back to Turkey in 2003, where Ferhan has since been working in the construction business managing projects.
Ferhan, who speaks almost fluent English, calls a spade a spade. He does not suffer fools gladly and is a perfect man to oversee the construction of this project. He is responsible for ensuring that all works are carried out in accordance with the regulations and acts as our "eyes and ears" and is employed directly by us. He is independent from the builder and government agencies and thus provides us, along with his Co-Project Manager, the certainty that the works are being completed to our specification.

Mehmet Nalci - Building Control Inspector
The system in Turkey is not unlike the system here, except that the building regulations in Turkey are more stringent. The building control regulations are set by the governmental agency that also set the charges for each property.
All new buildings must have a fifteen year guarantee covering the workmanship and materials used.
Building Control companies then contract with the developer to regulate the construction of each property or development.
The Building Control companies are independent of the governmental agency but must follow stringent rules laid down by the agency. They are responsible for overseeing the main construction work ("rough construction work" is the Turkish translation) and must ensure that all work is of the highest standard. So stringent are the rules that they are held accountable for 15 years for any defect in materials used or workmanship employed. Because of this they will insist on the builder remedying any slight defect that they find, otherwise they will pay the penalty later.
The Building Control Company looking after the development at Whispering Sands is Anadolu Yapi Denetim, which is owned by Mehmet Nalci. A member of Mehmet's staff will be on site permanently until the construction is complete thereby ensuring that all the building work is carried out to the highest standard. Nothing is left to chance; regular iron and concrete samples are taken and checked at the laboratory to ensure that the highest level of materials are used in the construction of your apartment.
